About Kazuri Beads: Dragonfly Bead Company will be hosting a two day Kazuri bead show. The bead show will be held on Friday February 3rd from 10AM - 6PM and Saturday February 4th 10AM - 4PM.
KAKAR Jewelry is an authorized dealer of Kazuri beads and will be at Dragonfly Bead Company offering several hundred different handmade beads. Kazuri beads are from outside of Nairobi Kenya. These beads are handcrafted and made of African clay that has been dug by hand. Kazuri produces a wide range of handmade, hand-painted ceramic beads that shine with a kaleidoscope of African colors. Each bead is shaped individually by hand without the aide of molds, forms, or any modern machinery.
The beads are painted with high gloss paint, and then glazed to produce a smooth, shiny decorated product. Kazuri prides themselves as a member of the Fair Trade Federation and it pays its employees three and a half times the national wage in Kenya. They provide free health care, day care and educate its workers on AIDS and Malaria.
